Wicked!

Hey everyone!

Recently I went to go and see my now all time favourite musical; Wicked!

NYC Wicked

When I first knew that I was going to see Wicked I was so pleased, I had asked for it as a Christmas present I was so lucky with the timing as Wicked was coming to my local theatre on tour! Originally I didn't really know a lot about plot of Wicked, but as I started to do some research on it I thought it would be a really interesting musical to watch.

The basic synopsis of Wicked is the long friendship between Elphaba ( aka, the Wicked Witch of the West) and Glinada ( aka, the Good Witch of the North) explained from the view of Glinada, starting from when they first met at college. Their talents are noticed and both are sent to see the Wizard, where Elphaba notices that thing are not all that nice and starts to defy the Wizard. Glinada remains loyal to the Wizard when all forces are out to get Elphaba, I won't tell you the ending but lets just say it slightly ruined my childhood.

Overall I thought Wicked was amazing! The costumes, the sets, the props, everything was just so detailed and contributed to the overall impressions it left on me. I loved all the songs, admittedly my friend and I did start singing along to some of them. The whole musical was just so well preformed and I would love to go and see it again! My all time favourite part was the ever so famous 'Defying Gravity'- it was outstanding!

I love seeing Wicked and I hope you liked my review on it, please comment down below your thoughts on this musical and any post you would like to see.

Lush Christmas/ Halloween Haul

Hey everyone!

Since one of my favourite things about autumn is Lush Baths when I went into town yesterday I couldn't resit popping into Lush to pick up some of their new Halloween/Christmas range. Although I didn't pick up as many things as I would of like due to me spending too much money already and them not having some items in store I think I will have to pop back sometime soon :)

The first item I got I have hear great things about from my friends but was yet to try, until now. Candy Mountain is just such a pretty colour and it makes your bath go a light pink colour. It's smell is also very sweet and personally like candy, it's shares it's scent with the infamous 'Snow Fairy' which I really want to pick up. As it's a bubble bar you can use it for more than one bath, which personally I think is great.

The second item I pick upped was the 'Cinders' bath ballistic, this reminds me so much as a fireplace and has a lovely citrous smell to it. Cinders is also topped with popping candy to make it seem like you are near a warm fireplace, which I find is a delightful touch. This bath ballistic smells really spicy and autumany, and it also contains lots of oils which will make your skin lovely and soft.

Another bath ballistic picked up was the Halloween themed 'Lord Of Misrule', I think this bath ballistic smells so good, a nice spicy yet strangely herbal smell. Yet again I have never tried this bath bomb at home, however from the demonstration that we had at the store, I can safely say that it has an amazing green outer shell but then after it has fizzed a bit a lovely wine colour takes over.

Butterbear was another Christmas product that I picked up and is he so adorable! As one  of my favourite bath ballistics is the butterball when I saw that they had turned in into a bear shape I knew I wanted to get it! Although it doesn't have an amazing colour it is so nourishing for the skin and has so many good qualities within it. If I wanted a bath with more colour I would probably just add a coloured bubble bar to my bath.

Although I never really pick up any of the soaps from Lush when I smelt I was absolutely blown away! Reindeer Rock has such a beautiful scent that smells of all different types of berries and just a lovely Christmas scent. Whilst asking the staff about this product they said it shared it's smell with the Comforter Bubble Bar so I think I will have to go and pick that up. The soap itself has such a lovely autumnal colour but with a slight shimmer on the reindeer, which I think is so cute!

I hope you have enjoyed my Lush Haul and I would love to hear what you have been loving recently from Lush, please comment down below what you love and any future blog posts you would like to see!

The Sweater Weather Tag

Hey everyone,
Since I've been in a really autumnal mood lately and wanted to do another blog post for you guys before my hopefully huge lush haul this weekend, so I thought it would be fitting to the Sweater Weather Tag!

The Questions:

1. Favourite candle scent?
Although it's not really an autumn smell I have been loving Yankee Candle's Midsummer Night to light in the evening as for me it is just a really nice musty smell that makes me all relaxed. As well as this despite it not being a candle I have also been using Air-wick National Parks scents in Lake District as I love this scent! It's smell is creating thanks to the use of many types of berries and to me it just smells like Christmas and Autumn, as soon as I walk into my room the scent just hits me and I love it!

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
To be honest none, at a push I will have a white hot chocolate but my all time favourite drink for all seasons is just a good old cup of warm milk. I don't really know why but no other hot drinks really appeal to me and milk just always seems to hit the spot.

3. What's the best fall memory you have?

My personal best memory of fall is when I went to Thorpe Park with my friend on a Halloween Fright Night. It was the first time I'd really been to a roller-coaster park and I just loved the experience going on all the rides and being flung up and down and around and around. For me it was such a great day and having the experience of everyone being dressed up for Halloween and it being your typical autumn day just made me get into the Autumn mood, (plus the hot doughnuts we had were amazing!)

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
In the past I haven't really been the biggest fan of makeup but as I'm starting to use it more and more I'm being to discover the products and looks I like and dislike. Recently I have been loving (alongside many other people) the dark red and purple lipsticks that have been making a comeback at this time of the year, so much so when I go shopping this weekend I really want to purchase a better quality one then I have at the moment, so look out for a review soon!

5. What do you want to be for Halloween
To go trick or treating this year i really want to go as either someone from the purge or as a zombie take of a character such as the Wizard of Oz or something similar. I just think this year I really want to go big as I may be going to a Fright Night and I really want to get into all the fun of dressing up for Halloween.

6. What do you do to get in the fall spirit?

I don't really do much to be honest, as soon as the weather starts to get a little colder and the leaves changing colour I just automatically seem to get into the Fall mood!

7. What is autumn weather like where you live?
Well since I live in England usually autumn is just filled with days where the rain is pouring down with no sunlight appearing through the grey clouds and the temperature being freezing in the mornings but quite mild later on in the day.

8. Most worn sweater?
I have so many sweaters to choose from! (Though personally I would like my collection to expand a little more!) But my favourite sweater has to be my burgundy with embellished shoulders jumper from Urban Outfitters. I just love it partly because it is nice and baggy, and it is quite light weight so I can just wear that or put a couple of layers underneath, to dress up or down this is my go-to sweater!

9. Must-have nail polish this fall?
Due to school I don't really wear nail varnish as much as I would like to, so I don't really buy many, however some colours that I have seen that I really would like to try out would be a matte black, burgundy and a light grey colour.

10. Football games or jumping in leaf piles?
Here in Britain we don't really watch school football games so it will have to be jumping in leaves, (I really wish I knew somewhere that was deep enough to do that :( ).

11. Hats or scarves?
Hats all the way! I don't really mind about having hat hair as it doesn't really affect me, I just think that hats just add something to my outfits and I love ones with bands names/slogans.

12. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
Confession time- I've never had a pumpkin spiced latte before, I'm sorry! But saying that I may have to try one this weekend when I go shopping as I heard many good reviews!

13. Favourite Halloween movie?
Right, another confession, I don't really like Halloween movies that much. I never really watched any of the classics and I'm such a scaredy-cat when it comes to horror movies, but I think I'm getting better! Although not a film I would really recommend American Horror Story as they are just so good (and with the latest series being based around a freak-show there's no better time to start watching!)

14. What song really gets you into the fall spirit?
Although it changes year to year with my music taste, one song that keeps reappearing is Green Days- 'Wake Me Up When September Ends'. It's just such a beautiful song that personally is timeless, and the music video to go with it is beautiful.

So thank you for reading my Sweater Weather Tag and I nominate:

What I love about Autumn

Hey everyone!

I'm so sorry I have blogged in so long, but I when I went back to school in September I was just inundated with homework and revision, but finally I have got everything under control so I should be able to post more often!

So since autumn/winter is my favourite time of year I decided it would be quite fitting to do a blog post with my 'Top 10 reasons why I love Autumn'.

Reason 1- The Weather
I absolutely love the weather at this time of year; at the start (in September) you still have those last few days where the sun is out and shining and you can still go down the beach with friends, and then through the next couple of months it slowly transfers into this beautiful day where the sun is still out yet it is chilly enough to wrap up warm. I also love the days when it is cold outside and then you can just stay inside all nice and warm.

Reason 2- The Colours
The colours that are about during this time of year are also stunning too, with all the deep colours yet some leaves still being quite bright colours such as orange/yellow. With all these colours around I just love how everyday I can take the same walk everyday yet the scenery and colours change.

Reason 3- Halloween
Even though I am 14, I do not care how old I get but every year Halloween will always have special place in my heart. I just love all the feeling of getting you and your house all dressed up and then going out with all your friends and having a great time whilst getting yourself free candy!

Reason 4- Bonfire Night/ Fireworks
I also love this event as I think it's lovely just to meet up with people and have a great time whilst watching a bonfire burn up (whilst of course heating some marshmallows over it :D). I also love seeing the pretty patterns that all the fireworks and sparklers make in the dark sky.

Reason 5- Lush Baths
I admit it, I can't help but after a long day at school I just love to come home and relax with a nice lush bath. I personally find their Christmas/Autumn range of products amazing both in smell and how they make my bath look, and I can't wait to go shopping this weekend to pick up all my favourites so watch out for a lush haul!

Reason 6- Film Nights
After having my lush bath I cannot resit curling up in my bed and watching a film or TV series whether it be a horror or another genre, especially if it is a stormy evening. My personal favourites at the moment are American Horror Story and The Fault In Our Stars.

Reason 7- Long walks
This one relates back to reason 1 and 2, because I love going out on walks partly due to those reasons. I believe that this year more than any I will love going out on walks as this year I won't have to go alone as I have my dog! Going on these walks just helps me to relax and take in the beautiful scenery, whilst also trying to keep me healthy.

Reason 8- Candles
As well as my favourite Lush products coming out I also find I prefer candle scents around this time of year, especially when Yankee Candle's release their new ranges.

Reason 9- Warm fires
I also love putting on the fire when I come home and it's cold outside and so I warm my feet up by the fire and then take photos of it because I find it's strangely picturesque.

Reason 10- Sweater weather!
Sweaters are my favourite item of clothing in my wardrobe and when autumn comes along I usually go overboard and go all out with my favourite jumpers from past years and then go a purchase a few new ones. I just find them so versatile and snuggly- (basically perfect for autumn!).

Hopefully you have enjoyed this blogpost and please do comment down below saying your favourite things about autumn!

Liebster Award

Hi everyone :)

So I had just got back from a short break to find out that I had been nominated for the Liebster Award, (which was such a unexpected yet great surprise!) by Sabina and her lovely blog!

Although I had seen others blog's complete the Liebster Award before, I had never really taken the time to read through one properly and discover what it's about, therefore leading me to do some research on what it's all about. The basic concept of it is to allow you to help your own blog to become better known amongst others whilst also helping you to discover new blog that you personally find interesting.

So here are the rules for the Liebster Award:

- Link back to the person who nominated you

- Write 11 facts about yourself

- Answer the 11 questions given to you by the nominator

- Nominate 11 other blogs for the Liebster Award

- Ask 11 questions you want to know about the nominees

- Let the nominees know they have been nominated and give them access to the award/questions

11 Facts about Me:

  1. My dream job is to be either a RAF pilot or a firefighter- I think I would just love the thrill of the job and being able to help others whilst doing something I love
  2. In April I started rowing with my friend Emily and I am absolutely loving it! It is such a great way to help me get fit and improve my upper body strength, whilst being in a competitive environment (which I love) and making new friends
  3. I am addicted to Apple products and wish I could have all of them!
  4. My favourite body scent is 'Lynx Attract for Girls'
  5. For my GCSE's (which I have just started) I chose: German, ICT, History and Geography
  6. My favourite quote is 'All Monsters are Human'
  7. My favourite band(s) are: My Chemical Romance and All Time Low
  8. I love taking walks down by the beach
  9. My favourite book is either '13 Reasons Why' or 'The Fault in Our Stars'
  10. I drink milk like anything, (I drink about 2 litres a day!)
  11. I love watching American Horror Story, (I can't wait till season 4 comes out! :D)
My 11 questions and answers:

-What is your go-to outfit for a causal day?

For this question I would have to answer a good old pair of skinny jeans, a flannel shirt with top underneath, vans and a hoodie. Personally you can never beat it!

-How tall are you?

At the minute I'm 5ft 7, however I meant to be 6ft 1!

-What is your favourite colour?

I know technically it is isn't a colour but black has to be my favourite with charcoal grey close behind :)

-Do you have any pets? If not, what pet would you keep?

Fortunately for me about 3 weeks ago I came home to find my parents had brought us a dog, and so now I have one dog called Moriarty and I love him to pieces!

-What do you see looking out your window right now?

Firstly I see the sun setting in the distance but before that I can see my rather long garden, a few houses, then a line of trees and a slight glimpse of the River Hamble :)

-What movie could you watch over and over an never get bored of?

This is quite a tough one because I have such a low attention span, literally 9 times out of 10 I watch a movie once and then it becomes boring. But at the minute I would say it's 'The Fault in Our Stars', for me it just makes me laugh and cry, doing everything a good movie should do and there are always those small things that each time I watch it I appreciate more and new things I pick up on.

-What is your guilty pleasure?

Probably getting new piercings, only problem is that I have a really low pain tolerance and so it kills to get a new one done, oops!
-How old were you when you first managed to reach a light switch (and turn it on)?

For this one I had to ask my mum because I honestly couldn't remember, and she said I was 6 at the time ( I don't know if that's really young or not?!)

-What is the best prank you have ever pulled off?

When I was younger I used to be a real 'goody-two-shoes' and so never did any pranks but for April Fools this year I change my brothers alarm to 5 hours earlier and made him wet the bed with the hand in a cold bucket joke. Let's just say I was crying with laughter :D

- Would you rather have a room that is impossible to tidy, or one that us perfect but has a smell that never goes away?

Considering I live in what my mum calls a pig's sty, then I think I would be well adapted to live a room that is impossible to tidy.

-What is number 1 on your wish list right now?

It would have to be for scientists to find a cure for all diseases such as cancer and the eboli disease.

Thanks you to Sabrina for asking me those questions, I really enjoyed answering them :)

My 11 Nominees:

- Becky J (In the Real World)
- Naban (The Literary Oracle)
- Cole Amber (The Beautiful Escape)
- Mary Walker (Vibrations of the Encore)
- Chloe Hill (This Daydreamer)
- Adam (Led By Youth)
- Rosie (Rosabelle)
- Izzie Snowe (Isabella)
- Tessa Be Jonson (grunge is back)
- Kate Stockill (Daydreamer Days)
- Jess Foote (daydreamtogether)

My Questions for the Nominees:
  1. Favourite Dessert?
  2. Sunrise or Sunset?
  3. Favourite TV series at the moment?
  4. Favourite quote?
  5. Do you have any talents?
  6. What is your biggest life achievement?
  7. What is your favourite blog post you have written and why?
  8. If you could go back in time when would you go back to and why?
  9. If you could spend a day in the life of anyone who would it be and why?
  10. What is your earliest memory?
  11. Do you have any fears?
So hopefully you all like learning more about me and got to find some new blogs to read (allowing the concept of the Liebster Award to be fulfilled) and I will type to you soon.

Depop

Hi everyone :)

Recently I've been wanting to earn a bit of extra money, however due to my age earning money is quite hard. After looking through a few websites for ways to earn money one tip that seemed to come up a lot was an app called 'Depop'.

The concept of Depop is quite simple, you can sell your own items and buy other people's. To be honest it's basically eBay. However an advantage over eBay is that you do not have to pay sellers fee's meaning you can make more of a profit. Another reason why it is similar to eBay is how you can bookmark/watch any items you like, which is great when you don't have the money to pay for it then, (I personally love using this feature!). However a difference between Depop and eBay is that on Depop there is no need to bid you can just instant buy and there be no hassle.

^Depop on the App Store^

The great thing about Depop is that there is such a wide and great variety of items, from clothing to electrics, footwear to books there is so much choice! The unfortunate (well for me anyway) is that I find so much I like and so little money to spend on it.

^My feed^

After you have signed up it is much like any other social network site, you are given your own profile and page. You can then follow others, (and hope they follow you back) then your feed will start to become active with item's you hopefully like :) Even if you don't have many followers you can still get selling, (I sold my first item at 34 followers) as long as you remember to write a good description so people will be able to find it through search.

^Search on Depop^

By using this app I just think it is just a great way to make that extra bit of money, get rid of unwanted items and possibly even find many items that you would never find otherwise.

^ My profile on Depop^

I hope this may inspire you to get selling and making some money this summer, and also hope you enjoyed this post.

Getting a dog!

Hi,

So today I didn't really do a lot so I wasn't completely sure what to write about, but then thinking back I realised that a couple of weeks ago something quite significant happened to my family: we got a dog!

I know owning a dog may not seem like a big thing to everyone but in my family we have wanted a dog for a long time, (10 years in fact!) but have just been waiting for the right time. Thankfully finally that time has come and with the school holidays about to start I couldn't wait to start playing with him. However thanks to the careful planning from my parents I didn't even know we were getting a dog until I saw him hiding in the bushes!
(^ There he is)
As soon as I saw him I automatically had hundred of thoughts running through my head: Is this dog really ours? I actually own a dog? What am I going to call him?
After a bit of thought we decided to call him 'Moriarty' aka. the arch enemy of Sherlock, due to me always loving that character and our dog looking slightly evil, (to me anyway).

At first Moriarty was really shy and timid (as with most dog I'm supposing after they have been placed in a completely new environment), and at nights he barks/whines and cries a little but night by night this got a lot better :) After a few days though he started to find he feet, (and in some cases literally) and we were able to start teaching him his name and a few basic things like where to go to the loo, how to sit and so on. After another trying to teach him the tricks (remember practise makes perfect!) he was able to do them, which was great to see our efforts had paid off :)

When I first got Moriarty I honestly didn't release how much work it would be, we have to: pick up his poo, keep him active, teach him tricks,  buy him essentials, arrange puppy training classes, make sure his is fed and watered and most of all keep him happy!

Overall although
he was such a big surprise, I absolutely love my new puppy, (Moriarty). Though there is a lot of work to put in to looking after him, I think all the time I spend with him and all the memories I am creating are worth it :)
